Neuro Health Code:

Protect Your Brain. Preserve Your Future.

DNA strand representing genetic testing for brain health

Know your brain's risks while there's still time to change them.

Neuro Health Code is a precision-medicine program from board-certified neurologist Dr. Amelia Barrett. We map how your genes and your body work right now, then build a plan to lower your chances of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and stroke.

These diseases start long before anyone notices.

Alzheimer's and Parkinson's begin changing the brain years, often decades, before the first symptom. By the time most people get a diagnosis, a lot of damage is already done.

The good news is that much of the risk is in your hands. Researchers estimate that nearly half of dementia cases are linked to factors we can change, like blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, inactivity, poor sleep, and hearing loss. Most strokes are preventable too.

The problem is that standard checkups aren't built to find these risks early. A basic cholesterol panel and a "your labs look fine" won't tell you how your body handles toxins, how well your cells make energy, or what your genes mean for your brain.

That's what this program is for.

Dr. Amelia Barrett, board-certified neurologist

Hi, I'm Dr. Barrett.

I'm a board-certified neurologist, and for most of my career I met my patients after the damage was done. After the memory loss. After the tremor. After the stroke. I could treat their symptoms, but I couldn't give them back what they'd lost.

I got tired of meeting people too late. So I changed how I practice. Now I use precision medicine to find out why someone's brain is at risk, and what we can do about it while there's still time.

I'm also a TEDx Speaker and author of Decode Your Migraine, where I use the same genetics-first approach to help people find the root causes behind their headaches.

Six comprehensive tests to find what we need to fix to shape your brain's future.

We look at how your genes, your blood vessels, your cells, your gut, your stress hormones, and your sleep work together, because that's how brain disease actually develops. Here's the testing that is included in your program:

Your genetic blueprint

Your genes don't determine your future, but they can reveal where your body needs extra support. We look at genes linked to Alzheimer's risk, including APOE4, as well as genes that affect brain chemistry, inflammation, nutrient absorption, and your body's ability to protect itself from damage.

We also look at how well your body processes vitamins, clears harmful substances, and handles foods like gluten and dairy. This helps us create a personalized plan to protect your brain as you age.

Your vascular health

What's bad for your arteries is bad for your brain. Healthy blood vessels are essential for keeping your brain sharp and reducing your risk of stroke and vascular dementia.

Standard cholesterol tests miss important warning signs. That's why we use advanced heart and blood vessel testing to uncover hidden risks that routine bloodwork may overlook. These results help us create a personalized plan to protect both your heart and your brain.

Your cells' energy, nutrients, and toxin load

Your brain needs enormous amounts of energy to stay healthy. When your cells struggle to produce energy or clear harmful toxins, your risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's may increase.

We test your cells' energy production, antioxidant defenses, and essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. We also screen for a wide range of environmental toxins, including heavy metals, mold toxins, pesticides, plastics, forever chemicals (PFAS), and industrial chemicals.

Your gut health

Your gut and brain are in constant conversation. Researchers now believe some cases of Parkinson's may begin in the gut. We look at the balance of your microbiome, hidden infections, gut inflammation, "leaky gut," and how well you digest and absorb your food.

Your stress hormones

Years of high or erratic cortisol can shrink the brain's memory center. With four saliva samples collected across one day, we map your cortisol and DHEA rhythm to see how your body is really handling stress.

Your sleep quality

Deep sleep is when your brain clears out waste, including the proteins linked to Alzheimer's. Using an Oura ring, we track your sleep quality and nighttime breathing patterns to screen for problems. We'll focus on how to optimize sleep to help your brain heal itself and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative disease.

  • Six nurse visits to address any other concerns that arise during your program, as well as unlimited email access (Value $800)

What is it worth to stay independent?

In Colorado, a single month in a nursing home costs a median of $12,182. Assisted living runs about $6,584 a month, and memory care costs more. Those costs often continue for years, and Medicare generally doesn't pay for assisted living.

Neuro Health Code costs $9,997, less than one month of nursing-home care and about six weeks of assisted living. It's paid once, not every month.

But the bigger number isn't money. It's years.

This program is about healthspan, the years you spend healthy, sharp, and independent.

That means staying in your own home. Driving yourself where you want to go. Remembering your grandkids' names and showing up for their big days. Traveling. Being the one who helps, not the one who needs help.

No program can guarantee you'll never get sick. But knowing your risks early gives you the best chance to change them.

How it works

1. Book your discovery call. We'll talk about your health, your family history, and your goals, and make sure the program is a good fit.

2. Enroll and test. You'll get your at-home test kits and your lab orders for a local lab. You'll also need an Oura ring, purchased separately.

3. Get your results. Dr. Barrett reviews every result and builds your personal report.

4. Build your plan together. On Zoom, we walk through what your results mean and what to do first.

5. Start your plan. That means your custom supplements, the lifestyle changes that matter most for you, and any prescription medications your results call for. Dr. Barrett prescribes whatever you need.

6. Fine-tune over six months. Across your six visits, we track how you're doing and adjust your plan as you go.

This program is a good fit if you:

  • are between 40 and 90 and want to do everything you can to protect your brain

  • watched a parent or grandparent go through Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or a stroke, and don't want the same for yourself

  • feel "fine" but know that standard checkups only scratch the surface

  • want a plan built on your data, not generic advice

  • will be in Colorado for your Zoom visits

It's not the right fit if you:

  • are having new or sudden symptoms like weakness, numbness, trouble speaking, or confusion. Call 911 right away.

  • are looking for a replacement for your primary care doctor

Frequently asked questions

Is my genetic information private? Can insurance companies see it?

Your results stay between you and Dr. Barrett. Your genetic testing and program fees are cash pay, so they aren't billed to or shared with an insurance company. Federal law (GINA) bars health insurers and employers from using your genetic information. In Colorado, state law also bars long-term care and group disability insurers from using genetic test results for underwriting. If you're thinking about long-term care insurance, bring it up on your call and we'll talk through it.

Will this tell me I have Alzheimer's or Parkinson's?

It can. This program focuses on risk and prevention, but Dr. Barrett is a board-certified neurologist. If your history, exam, or results point to dementia or Parkinson's disease, she can order brain imaging and make a diagnosis. Brain scans are ordered only when medically necessary and can be billed to your health insurance.

What if I find out I carry APOE4?

APOE4 raises risk, but it's not a diagnosis. Many people with APOE4 never develop Alzheimer's, and many people with Alzheimer's don't carry it. Because APOE is so central to Alzheimer's risk, every patient learns their result. We go over it together on Zoom, in context, with a plan for the diet, exercise, sleep, and heart-health steps that matter most for you.

I already did 23andMe or Ancestry. Can I use that?

No. The program includes a specific functional genomics panel, chosen to look at the genes that matter most to reduce the risk of dementia, Parkinson's disease, and stroke.

How are the tests collected?

Some tests use at-home kits you mail back. Others need a quick visit to a local lab. You'll also wear an Oura ring, purchased separately, for the sleep assessment. We'll walk you through every step.

Do I need to live in Colorado?

You need to be physically in Colorado during the Zoom visits, because that's where Dr. Barrett is licensed. You don't have to be a permanent resident.

Are the supplements included?

Your first three months of your custom formula, with your name on the bottle, are included. After that, you can reorder anytime through your personal link. You are responsible for all other supplement purchases.

I've already been diagnosed with a neurological condition. Is this for me?

It may be. Book a call, and we'll talk about whether the program fits your situation. This program doesn't replace care from your primary care physician. It is intended to function as a supplement to other medical care you are receiving.

Will Dr. B replace my primary care doctor?

No. Think of this as a deep-dive addition to your care. With your permission, we're happy to share your plan with your other doctors.

Do I need an Oura ring?

Yes. The Oura ring isn't included in the program price, so you'll purchase your own. If you already have one, you're all set.

What's your refund policy?

All sales are final. Your testing is ordered and your supplements are made just for you, so we can't offer refunds. That's one reason we start with a call: you can ask anything you want before you enroll.

The best time to protect your brain is before anything goes wrong.

You can't change your genes. But you can change the biological systems they control, and that starts with knowing how you're wired.
